Texas Fair Plan Rate Changes

Texas Fair Plan will be changing rates effective January 1, 2012. Depending on location of the risk the change can be an upward increase of 15.8% for homeowner policies and 16.2% increase on Texas dwelling policies. There is also decreases to be in place of 8.8% on homeowner policies and 11% decrease on Texas dwelling policies again depending on a number of factors. Your independent agent can advise what your premium would be if your coverage is with the Fair Plan. Our new commissioner of insurance, Eleanor Kitzman approved the rate changes recently.
